Headshot: A photograph of the head. (source)

Congratulations! You are about to make the best investment in marketing yourself. Below are some things you should know about this investment process.

Not sure if this is for you? Check out my collection of over 100+ articles on why image management is important for you.

There is a 4-Step Process when working with me for your headshots at my studio:

1. The Shoot

2. On-Site Proofing

3. Retouching

4. Printing

1. The Shoot

I have 2 sessions I offer:
 - Intensive Session (2 looks, 1 hour) For those needing more variety.

 - Power Hour (1 look, 30 mins) For professionals. I recommend a business and casual look.

All sessions include my coaching style that  brings the very best out of you at my studio. The things you will learn will be tools you will use for the rest of your life. Be prepared for a unique experience like none other! We will shoot, edit together, and you will walk out of the studio with an online proofing gallery to help you finalize your selected photos.

Preparing for the shoot

Hair and Make Up -

Women - Highly recommended to have a natural make up look for your look. I will have a make up artist on-site to make sure you look great through your session for an additional fee. Please arrive an hour prior to your session with a clean washed face. Make up artist has his/her cost. For hair please come audition ready or as if you were going out in public. Feel free to bring your hair products and hair ties to help aid your style. Hair ties are great for another look.

Men - No make up necessary for your session. Please bring your shaving kit if you would like to be shot with your facial hair then without.

Wardrobe -

What you wear does not make your headshot, you do! Your wardrobe helps accentuate your headshot. Bring your favorite solid colored tops to the session. If you are not sure about a top/shirt? Bring it in. We'll finalize the looks in studio. In this case, more is better. No jewelry or earrings in my headshots.

2. On-Site Proofing

We'll go over all your photos during the session and determine the ones you'll need for your portfolio. All of these will go into an online proofing gallery for you to share via email and get input from agency directors, life coach, or family/friends.

3. Retouching

All my photos require basic retouching. This includes removing blemishes, stray hairs, zits, etc. while keeping your look natural and genuine. My retouching isn't plastic surgery.

4. Printing

Once you have your photos retouched I highly recommend using professional printers to help present yourself on tangible items such as photo business cards, 8x10 headshots, comp cards, and more. When I deliver your retouched photos I'll give you my recommendations on where to purchase your printed items.
